When you know what to do but don't do it
🗞 Local News
Did you know Aspire Fitness trains teens?? Yeah, me neither but this is great if you’re looking for a skilled trainer to work with your high school athlete. (Colts Neck + Rumson)
If you’re looking for a Pilates studio where your teacher will go as slow as molasses with you because of injury, childbirth, fear or just being wildly out of shape, I highly recommend the Pilates Project. I was terrified to get back on the reformer after four babies, but they made me so comfortable and significantly helped with postpartum back pain. (Fair Haven)

The #1 thing I hear from new nutrition clients is this:
“I know what to do, I just don’t do it.”
Do you really, though? Nutrition’s changed a lot in the past few decades and so many old recs just don’t cut it anymore. Annnd… a lot of those same old recs are what got you into a health pickle in the first place.

If you’re dealing with any of these issues, here’s the most up-to-date and effective dietary approach based on research, science and my 15+ years of learning and counseling.
OLD RECS | NEW RECS | |
---|---|---|
DIABETES / PCOS | Low fat everything, more whole grains, sugar-free treats, pair carbs with protein | Low carb, full fat everything, less grains, sugar-free nothing, pair carbs with fat |
CHOLESTEROL | Low fat, low cholesterol | |
AUTOIMMUNE | No guidance whatsoever OR strict AIP | Cut grains first, then dairy, then nightshades. AIP if absolutely necessary |
WEIGHT LOSS | Low fat, low calorie; small, frequent meals | More veggies, protein and fat; 3 meals, no snacks |
EXERCISE | 30-60 minutes per day, mostly cardio, some HIIT; exercise to lose weight | More walking, low intensity (esp for women), short sprints; diet is king, move because you enjoy it, not to burn calories |
