Can you drink AND lose weight??🍹

If you’re trying to lose weight, alcohol will get in the way (womp womp, I know). Let’s say Monday through Thursday you’re eating clean, moving your body and tapping into fat stores. The second you take a sip of wine on Friday night, you put fat-burning on pause. Depending how much or how often you drink, you could be on pause perpetually.

My suggestions:

  1. Eat, drink and be merry, just know what you’re getting into and how it could be affecting your goals.

  2. Make it count. Only drink on special occasions or when you’re going out.

  3. Avoid alcohol completely for a few weeks while you reach a goal or two, ease up for a week and indulge, rinse and repeat. You can time this around holidays / events / etc.

  1. Dr. Li just shared the best vegetables to fight inflammation and beat disease. He’s a fantastic follow if you’re on IG or YouTube, FYI.

  2. This review found that eating ultra-processed foods may contribute to diabetes, heart disease, obesity and high blood pressure BUUUT there needs to be more research on the topic. Um… I’d just go with common sense here and avoid any food with an ingredient list full of crap you can’t pronounce.

  3. Are you knee-deep in a food rut? Constantly drawing a blank when it comes to meal ideas? You need this app (it’s FREE). It’ll generate meal plans for you and if you don’t like what’s for lunch, hit refresh and get another idea! It’s got a ton of worth-it bells and whistles if you upgrade, but I just use the free version for ideas.

  1. Sick of water, sick of seltzer, but def don’t want to drink soda? Try Poppi! I’d drink it for the flavor and fizz and not rely on it as your go-to gut-fixer, though.

  2. If you’re trying to take in more iodine for your thyroid, metabolism or estrogen balance, I love Gimme seaweed snacks. Full disclosure, it’s a little bit of a weird mouthfeel and sometimes it gets stuck on the roof of your mouth but it’s totally worth awkwardly scraping out for the metabolic benefits
